Yeah, I've been using that rationale a lot. There are so many potential side-effects from the virus itself that are exactly as unknown as anything that could come from the vaccine, and a whole bunch of confirmed known ones that it's insane to take your chances with the virus. In addition, two of the "highest risk" potential side-effects from the vaccine (GuillainBarr syndrome and transverse myelitis) are at least just as likely to occur with coronavirus infection as well. And it should be added that only two instances of transverse myelitis showed up in any trial so far that I'm aware of, both in the AstraZeneca/Oxford adenovirus vaccine, and one was confirmed to actually be multiple sclerosis that was unrelated. The second is still part of the data that's being reviewed now and I expect to also be cleared as not related to the vaccine.

The main thing of concern noted so far from the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine has been exceedingly rare allergic reactions that have all been handled readily with epinephrine.

And by exceedingly rare, I mean that out of millions already who have been vaccinated worldwide I believe the count is less than 10.
