oh yeah, also i should probably also mention that there are smartphone apps out there that serve as true hubs of micro-indies, where you actually just use their character creation service to make one and use it to stream, and it's totally free. You've maybe heard of Custom Cast, but the big platform that does that is this one called REALITY

there's also the IRIAM platform which is kinda similar but not quite, since it's actually one where you have to apply on their site to stream on, and they commission artists in your stead if you get approved... also, you don't actually own your character that way and a lot of people that used it really hate them for that combined with some other dubious things they try to make them do

all those other platforms are generally just streamlined around only chat streams, and they can't be viewed outside of the app, and they also can't be archived... but they still have their own audiences (besides reality which is like... 20k streamers to probably less than 20k total active viewers lol)

IRIAM's vLivers generally do also have youtube channels but they're pretty damn obscure sadly... one of the two people in the smash reaction stream i linked above actually came from a commercially sponsored group that was based on that platform, and they have more subs than most from there, with only 1.3k...

only maybe like 0.5% of REALITY streamers are active on youtube and are mostly in the same boat
