If made legal, "recruitment" via manipulation would run rampant with profit-seeking employers (aka pimps).

Plus, every (wo)man could essentially charge any partner legally, unless official licenses or whatnot are required.

"I'm a legal escort. Here's my business card. You're my wife/husband, but you gotta pay to get some."

And depending on an employee's position in regards to protection, there would be more cases of abortion - or born, unwanted children.

I feel it should be legal but a lot of wrinkles need to be ironed out to help prevent issues like which you speak of before we just snap our fingers and make it legal. Just cause you cant 100% prevent it though doesnt mean it shouldnt happen because hell some of those issues exist with it being illegal already. I feel the coercion would be easier to track and punish if done by legal companies. Especially with the me too movement making at least some women more willing to come forth with allegations.
