Ive already done a song ranking topic once before, and Ive decided to try something a bit different by ranking music videos. Each user may nominate up to 4 videos, no longer than about five minutes each (please include a YouTube link). And they must be official music videos, not a fan created mash-up. To improve my chances of actually finishing this project, Im limiting this to 100 nominations.

Videos will be ranked based on five scoring criteria. Please keep them in mind when deciding what to nominate (unless youre shooting for that coveted last place spot).

1. Music: Im going to try to keep this factor as objective as possible by taking into account how complex, varied, and harmonious a song is. But some of my personal taste will probably creep in. Although Im pretty open-minded, I tend to dislike most metal, so nominate that genre at your own risk.

2. Story: I cant stress the importance of this factor enough. The video should tell an interesting story through the visuals, although it doesnt have to be spelled out. Some people are going to nominate videos where its just a band playing instruments and someone singing, and theyre going to get a low score in this factor. Dont be one of those people.

3. Appearance:I'll be scoring this factor based on the aesthetics of the video. Things like the quality of visual effects, the setting, direction, costumes, and so on.

4. Originality: With this factor, Im looking for videos that dont resemble tons of other videos and do something unique (at least for the time when the video was released).

5. Personal: Ill score this one based on how much I liked the video overall (visuals and music) on a purely personal level.

Finally, no promises as to how quickly, or if, Ill be able to get these rankings done, since I havent been feeling too great lately. But so long as this winds up being the fun diversion Im hoping it will be, Im eager to get to work on it.
