The MSRP does not determine the market value, and if the sale price is lower than the market value you create an incentive for arbitrage. You can do things like put a limit on the number of consoles a single person can buy to try to tamp down on it, but at the end of the day the only way to eliminate scalping is to set the MSRP close enough to the initial market value to make it not worth the effort (and retailers have pretty weak incentives to even put up these partial barriers). --- Congrats to azuarc, GotD2 Guru champ! ...
