They movies have a focus that stuff like the DCEU does not. They literally let Edgar Wright go from Ant-Man because he strayed a little too far from Marvel's formula. Not every movie has the same tone, but they come really, really close. They wouldn't let Raimi make Dr. Strange creepier.
