Fits into your idea of merging CS3 and CS4 - you wouldn't have Sharon/Irina/Schmidt/George join the bad guys to begin with. I thought them turning back to the good side was inevitable though, so I was just glad to have it finally happen. It's nice to have parts where things happen after that not really being the case with the first half of the game.
