I think the tactical combat of DAO was more engaging even if it was more frustrating at times. Not that I wasn't damn frustrated at moments even in DA2. The game could be a cakewalk and then oh man is that a mage BAM your dead The roleplaying elements may be the strongest of the Bioware games I've played so far.
