Fairy Tail I think I made it through maybe two episodes before giving up. Neither one is a great example of an overpraised popular anime series, although Fairy Tale was pretty popular in the past. It's better than the war arc of Naruto but that's not saying much. Part 1 Naruto and even up to Pain completely blows away Boruto. And it is extremely popular, I think it just ranked as the #1 anime in Japan...ahead of Naruto lol. Though the Naruto anime was really bad to be fair with loads of filler. I totally forgot to mention DB which is definitely worse both in quality and fanbase. DBS is a hot mess and the fandom is intolerable and super dumb. I'd take even Boruto over that. As for Sonic maybe I'm speaking from memory of the mid 2000s.
