It's the preferred way of avoiding damage, since he can just keep charging forward and it doesn't take away from his Greyskull Battery Source. The one thing that might be an issue is He-Man just... throwing a rock. https://www.he-man.org/assets/images/collect_toy/vintage_10_content_262_full.jpg Here he is throwing a magic rock to save a city hundreds of miles away at "twenty-two miles per second". That... is presumably very, very fast.
