Mafia III really has that nice small town feel to it, plus a great-looking bayou. It's too bad it's so repetitive, because the writing is actually really damn good. It's also a bit buggy as well. There's only one save file and no manual saves, so starting a new game will erase your old one. But this doesn't remove the bonus things you unlock from the DLCs. On one hand, this means you retain all the upgrades and top-level hybrid weed strains from the unlockable weed farm, so you can start making big money as soon as the expansion can be played. On the other, another expansion lets you renovate your family bar that burned down, and since this bug also makes the game think you've already got the upgrades, you can't fix it up again. The only way to avoid this is to delete all your save data before starting.

But that's the worst bug I've encountered and easy to avoid if you know what you're doing. If you can tolerate some repetition, the base game is worth grabbing. Since the release of the Mafia I and II remakes, they made all the DLC for III free.
