My boyfriend and I are still together after about five years, though he's been preoccupied with games I don't play since this pandemic has made his phlebotomy training more complicated than he needs it to be. It sometimes feels a bit distant, coming from him, and not just because he's still in north Cali while I'm in western WA. We used to share being on FFXIV a lot, but he's been so bored with that game lately (mind you, he was playing it since 1.0, as opposed to me playing since version 2.4). I have one book on Amazon that I wish had sold more copies, like enough to pay for the hours I put into it, but my writing of other stories continues at a leisurely pace between gaming and full-time work as a cook. Also, customers really like my food, so there is that at least, even if being a cook isn't necessarily my career choice. I enjoy being in WA far more than CA because I'm bombarded less by the sunlight. My neighbors just suck, however. Last week, I had thought I would finally get to sleep in, but one of the worst neighbors started having a random shouting episode, chased a security guard with a hammer after she checked in on him, and then pulled the fire alarm for our whole building . . . at five in the gods-damned morning. We all hope he's gone or on the way out at this point, and I am hopeful tomorrow morning will be far better for getting rest than that. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
