My school had a dress code, though it was mostly things you could wear. It was a public school, though. And even when I wore a uniform at a private school, there weren't many rules about it. There were a few, but it didn't seem super strict. And you could technically modify a uniform while not breaking any rules. Whether or not someone said anything is different, though. It's possible someone here knew someone (or were that person) who modified a uniform while staying in the rules.
