The dream is still cross-platform Remake boosting the performance.

Again, everyone is completely disconnected. FF7 can always dominate stats because you have 2 or more people on each character, completely siloed. You can look at any character elimination and see how the backers didn't stay "within the series", there's very few users like that. The best opportunity for consolidation was Aerith, because you could see that literally every one of her backers went to a non-7 character.

So....... Justice for Aerith?

I still say & believe that Sephiroth was a remake deboost.

I feel obligated to main him next year but I'm not feeling too enthused about it. I'll replay Crisis Core beforehand, I guess.

I just can't see an FF7 character winning and I don't know how it happened in XIX, MWC you have to explain how you guys pulled that off, considering best 7 placements the past 3 years: 4th, 6th, 4th... definitely can't see Sephiroth winning, though he did get 3rd in recent history? I guess anything's possible.

Anyways, this reminds me of something else I wanted to post about in the results topic: what I posted in last year's results topic, when we were talking about our hopes or dreams for next year.

The Squall run worked out, Seifer was a non-entity (probably for the best), we got the deep Garnet run I was hoping for, top 5 Seymour... lots of nice stories this year. Kefka ran into an unfortunate end... Tifa backed up her look with really astounding character development & battle prowess beyond what I ever expected, and was close but no cigar.

And yeah, Sephiroth, fuck. Every year I've been here it's been one misfortune after another with him. Maybe next year.

Anyone want to make any hot takes for next year so they can claim credit?
Now that Squall got a win, can people really coalesce behind Kefka?
Are we really going to get a Selphie redemption run?
Will YRP actually really be a force?
Are we ready for "Yes, rich

Like you pointed out, once you have multiple people saving you are gonna get far. So Chris watching out, and Steiner being an early saver every time as well with Chris and I made it so we had a strong core, so I could legit go and do my plan I had suggested for years but no one else really ran with because of the thought it wouldnt work, and that was going backwards from day 98 and such one day at a time getting multiple Cloud votes in the future for NRs. As much as I needed Chriss help I truly truly needed Steiner just as much, there were days in the top 10 that those extra votes from months ago saved Cloud, the reason I needed Steiner is because Steiner was able to make sure that Cloud was well and truly safe every day usually without my help so that I could use my second and third hours to accrue future value. I believe Steiner also had the Leon trade that year, so that was a guaranteed hour 2 start save for Cloud everytime. Huge huge gain. All time Chris is the protagonist of this contest, and for good reason, Chris was just as instrumental, he knew when to start and stop trading with the right and wrong people, he knew when to let projects go for the greater good, certainly a friendly calming force as well. You may have noticed I can be obnoxious and abrasive on occasions, Chris always knew how to buy have me say something stupid, and when I did he would assure everyone just me getting excited, everything is fine, and even when I made mistakes on timing for trades or saved the wrong person on accident, Chris was able to quickly make something happen with someone else so they wouldnt hate me. It was a team effort and a perfect storm, and it was awesome that I was able to do my part to help Steiner get his Cloud win, and Chris get whatever he wanted out of it. He didnt have to help, I dont even know if he likes Cloud a ton, I know Chris hated me a long time, maybe he just did it out of the goodness of his heart, or because I was dumb enough to sacrifice real money for it. I honestly dont know, I also dont care. He was instrumental in our victory whatever the reason. It was probably the most fun I ever had on the board, Ill never forget it. Great memories.

so my advice to you would be you cant save everybody. It was heartbreaking losing Barret and such right around the 20s and I could have saved him, but it was more important to keep Cloud saver in the future. You want to be visible but not obnoxious, Steiner and Chris were both great at being forces which got eliminated characters to come to the Cloud train, while not begging everytime someone dropped, having a character that is everyones third or fourth favorite instead of like 5 peoples overall favorite is a god send. As previously said many times, a few dedicated savers is top 20, if as people drop you have someone that virtually everyone likes but not loves, that will be awesome for you. Cloud is that, hes not everyones favorite FF character, but he is well liked overall, not many just down right hate him, and sadly, you gotta be lucky. Maybe Aeris does it this time, she was similar to Cloud like I said earlier, just getting stronger as people went out, I know I missed either round of 7 or round of 8 cause I was banned, and Cloud was on the chopping block, and out of nowhere we got 2 saves that werent trades or anything, just a person or two that hadnt saved him at all that contest keeping him alive. That doesnt happen, Cloud doesnt win, we arent having this convo right now. Sheer luck, you gotta have a bit of fairy dust to win. Look at Vincent. The conglomerate we had with Vincent actually had more mains, just had terrible terrible luck in the round of 4 or 6, and that was all she wrote. Best of luck, you can do it.
