Ok so who specifically is the one being threatened here, how/about what are they being threatened, and how is the one doing the threatening allegedly going to enforce that?

The workers as a collective are obviously not being threatened because the firing is not an act of retribution; it's a legitimate response to changing market conditions that necessitate a different mode of operation for their company. (At least in the general case I am considering. I don't know the details of this specific case but if you're saying it has to be illegal than there has to a compelling argument in the general case)
