I think that's giving them a lot of credit. The only movie that went off in its own weird direction was TLJ; the others were basically what everyone expected.

Even if you give them enough credit to say that was their intention, its still really dumb. Theres a big difference between the MCU and Star Wars, especially a mainline Star Wars trilogy.

The MCU has an overarching metaplot, but the plots of individual movies, even within sub series, are only loosely connected to each other.

Meanwhile the mainline Star Wars trilogies have alway had very tightly connected plots, to the point that they are effectively single narratives broken into three parts, like The Lord of the Rings.
