I will say that the first part of the last arc (Soul Society being invaded) is actually really solid and was the best the series had been in a long time.
After that, though, it becomes laughably stupid.
Unohana's death being pointless, and the Captains not utilizing Kido more was stupid to the max before "A: The Asspull" even went into full effect. The series built up Kido somewhat and their swords getting stolen was a great opportunity to expand upon what you can do with it. Total waste of a concept.
