I'm not so sure. Heck, even to the extent that a given voter knows James for Metallica, is that really going to lead to a vote in a hypothetical video game character contest? Contrast all that with say Freddie Mercury or John Lennon, both of whom have fame and reputations distinctly beyond the reach of their mega-popular bands. --- "I believe in a universe that doesn't care and people who do."
