I went in not knowing about the new angle and I found it feeling super refreshing, even though as you said we've seen plenty of rogue AI films before. Some of the IoT related deaths felt so darn clever to the point that the movie feels maybe even a bit ahead of its time, since fears over this sort of stuff will be way more prevalent probably less than a decade from now.
