Freya might as well not exist after Cleyra, and Amarant is only needed for like two scenes. Quina is Quina. Yuffie and Vincent aren't all that relevant to the plot but that's because they're optional. I certainly wouldn't argue FFVII's cast is flat either. Trying to say only Cloud and Aerith matter in the original game is a legit baffling take.
