to be clear, i agree with you that people shouldn't, like, walk on eggshells all the time because "oh no, how will some irrational right-wing people interpret what i'm doing", that doesn't sound like a solution to me either, nor do i think it's reasonable for people to do that. to some extent, yes, it's on them to not just assume that every person on "the other side" is some bully/cultist as well. i guess my point was moreso to say "here's an example of why they think this way"
