Request a mail in ballot if you don't want to vote in person w/ a crowd. Hand it back in yourself (not through the mail) to make sure it's received. Or at least use ballot drop off boxes. They're supposed to be secure, and ballots are picked up regularly from them (usually daily), without going through the mail system.
