Holy shit he's hard. Still haven't beaten it, but I've made it to his third phase twice. I'm having better luck with gunlance than with chargeblade, but gunlance isn't amazing at breaking the head to stop his insta-kill fire. Might have to slot in partbreaker or something, but I think multiplayer also helps for that. The problem is he does 50-60% of your life, and quite a few of his attacks force a prone state so it's basically instant death unless someone heals you right before you eat it.
