Running the country is not actually a one person job, when you elect a president you get a whole administration with them. You're not just electing George W Bush, you're also electing Dick Cheny and Karl Rove too. Presumably whoever is whispering in the earpiece would be an important decision maker in the administration, and if the candidate thinks this decision maker has better answers, then those are probably the answers that will get implemented, so...I want to hear what the person in the earpiece has to say. I want to hear it too, but from their own lips, not from a nominee that they're using as a photogenic figurehead. If Mysterious Voice will be actually be running things, then Mysterious Voice ought to be the one running for office. The concept of a debate where the candidates bring prospective Cabinet members and can delegate questions to them sounds fine, though. --- I don't like this duchy. Now, it's an adventurer. ...
