Scalping takes effort and luck.

That said, there are people willing to pay a premium because they couldn't get something that was limited in number normally.

There is a fact many people seem to ignore though.

The assumption is, if the scalper didn't buy it, you would have been able to buy it at the MSRP.

However, the reality is, if the scalper didn't buy it, chances are you still wouldn't get it, because of how many other people are also trying to buy it. The scalpers are only a small number of people in the tsunami of people trying to buy a limited product.

This is not to say I endorse scalping, I'm just clearing up the reality of the situation.

Funny how both Sony and Microsoft screwed up announcing the pre-order start times though.

This is the weirdest justification Ive seen in a long while. In this scenario there are two outcomes, one is I dont get the item and the other is I dont get the intern and somebody else is forced to pay an inflated price.

How is the second one better?
