Also doesn't help that I have mild Deutan colorblindness.

It's not really something you can get better at either. Skill based games you can train and become better, but if your memory is shit or you literally can't tell the difference between the blue and purple guys, then you are just fucked no matter what you do.

You can definitely train your memory to be better. You can also use a pen and paper to write down who went which way. there are solutions there.
