I agree with this. Breaking the junction system and cards was awesome. I upgraded Squall's weapon from the basic one straight to the 2nd best one before the first mission and made it so the post-Edea cutscene made no sense because her limit attack thing was Ice based and I was already at 90% absorption of all elements so it should have healed me, plus I never had to use magic because my normal attacks were doing 3-5k damage to everything and healing me for the same amount (unless enemies resisted Drain). That was fun as fuck. Looking back though, the story was just utterly asinine at pretty much every point. I guess I just kinda dismissed that when I first played it.
