As long as you get even basic characters for the most important elements, you're good to go. The game gives you a lot of free shit starting out, I got a bunch of 4 star weapons and 4 star heroes. The heroes are just there to be switched to when you need elements and stuff. It is vveeeerrryyy botw inspired. Also, this is listed as an MMO, but it isn't.
