I think it's more option B. You win early and you keep winning and you start to feel invincible and untouchable. The power goes to your head, and any disruption to their power fucks things up, so you get more pissed off. There's a reason why, despite me not liking them personally, Level 6 was actually pretty likable (to most people) for almost all of BB20. Because FOUTTE beat them and humbled them occasionally, and forced them to play from a position of weakness.
