People are fleeing from central America largely because of a situation that the US have engineered over several decades of intervention and destabilization. Every president since has played a part in this. The Obama administration inherited ICE from the Bush administration and oversaw continued activities. The point here is that yes, Trump is absolutely bad, super bad, but the Democratic establishment has been heavily complicit in this situation as well. And there's a bit of a narrative that all these atrocities start and end with Trump. I wish that were the case but it isn't. And until a Dem presidential candidate actually acknowledges that then I'm very skeptical that they actually care about improving the material conditions of Hispanics. I didn't mean the general sentiment. Pretty much immigration is an ongoing issue and no administration has dealt with it in a "good" way. I agree with you there.
