Actually r/communism and most other allegedly communist sub-reddits ban anyone that is critical of the CCP and come up with all kinds of justifications for why capitalism is actually good. Allegedly it will all disappear in the future and the vanguard millionaires and ruling class will give all the money and wealth to the people. The people just have to wait for glorious capitalism to create conditions for them to get a piece of the pie.

The majority of people on r/socialism are also pro-CCP and defend capitalism. If you want actual leftists you have to go to like r/anarchy or a few other subs. Western socialism/communism is often just a defense force for capitalist states that are authoritarian and claim to be communist/socialist or just don't like the West (they love to defend Russia and Iran too for whatever reason). It's honestly frustrating because I want to discuss actual socialist ideas but the mainstream representation is just authoritarian capitalism and its defenders and people in the US often think socialism is just government doing stuff so there isn't really much possibility to have a real discussion.
