That's disgusting to read. DDO would have been what the MMORPG genre desperately needed since those games are almost known for having fairly garbage combat and it'd have given Capcom a lot more room to expand the game favorably.

I contest that DD didn't do so hot outside of Japan because of where it was originally released. Came out in 2012, stuck between Diablo and Mass Effect, probably the worst time to release a new IP. Whatever the case it deserves a second chance. Monster Hunter blew up huge with World, a DD2 could easily do the same.

And that game was released during Capcom's dark ages. Imagine it with the talent they have now that delivered DMC5.

I will say that Dragon's Dogma felt like what Capcom would do if they had the D&D license still. It reminds me if they took Shadow over Mystara and went beyond its beat 'em up/hack & slash roots.
