I ended up getting another friend (who doesn't know the people who found the kitten) to take the kitten in. She was really excited and bought a bunch of stuff for the kitten, so everything worked out.

Silly as it sounds, after I told my friends I'd take the kitten, I started bawling because I'm not emotionally ready to have another cat. I would have kept her if I couldn't find a home for her (because I'll be damned if I was going to let this tiny baby go to a shelter), but I'm so glad I did find someone.

One of the friends that found the kitten is really torn up because she got attached to the kitten and was hoping I'd keep it so she could visit it. I feel a little bad about that, but I still think it was better that the kitten got a home immediately instead of spending any time in a shelter.
