I dont know, this one just sounds very tired and lugubrious (but maybe thats the whole point?) Having left it and come back, its actually grown on me quite a bit. Id definitely listen to this one again. The more you listen to Richard Thompson, the more effortless his virtuosity feels. That said, that probably wasn't a good song as an introduction to his work or anything...I just rather liked it on that album (all of which is great, btw).
