What really stinks is that the "bad feminism" overshadows the positive feminism of the film. The movie has three well-written female characters in prominent roles. Mackenzie Davis could easily be this generation's go-to action lead the way that Arnold Schwarzenegger was twenty-something years ago. I have that much faith in her. But the movie decided to rewrite the history books so that Louisa May Alcott could be president during the American Civil War instead of Abraham Lincoln. That's... that's the same problem with Ghostbusters '16. Why do we have to take away the achievements of males? Why can't we have a natural succession in which the torch is passed on to a female protagonist instead? --- 2020 going to be a CE kind of year ~ Panthera ... Copied to Clipboard! |
