A lot of people don't realize how much the brain can simulate the feeling of withdrawals, even when it's not a physical thing. Distractions are the key. I take my medication for my back to just live my life, so my addiction is kind of sketchy. I actually need the stuff, but I don't always use it in the most responsible way. Luckily, I don't get depressed when I can't abuse it. But there's always that voice that's like "a couple more would feel even better right now". I just need to learn how to snuff that voice out.
