I don't think it's that different! I'm not posting on some huge impersonal reddit, I'm on board 8 and consider you guys friends, or at least acquaintances. It's true that googling is more efficient, but there are a lot of subjects (both in face-to-face and in online conversation) that I don't care enough to research independently, but would care enough to ask a friend a simple "Who's that?" --- another place and time, without a great divide, and we could be flying deadly high ...
