I'm not so sure about that. It's not like he was rushed back. For an injury of that type he was actually several months slower to return than normal and still on a heavy minutes restriction. He was 8 months removed from an injury that typically has a recovery timeline of 3-4 months. The league wouldn't even give the Magic an injury exception as an independent examiner ruled he was likely to return before the playoffs but the Magic planned on holding him out anyway.

The current Magic FO is notoriously cautious about bringing people back slowly from injury.

The worst part is that he was just over 1 minute away from completing his minutes restriction and being taken off. He had played 14:36 and was on a 16 minute restriction.
