MLB is in a tougher spot due to the sheer volume of games. NHL and NBA teams might expect to play every other day, or have two days off between games. Add in the fact that they're closer to the playoffs and could exclude some teams, and you're looking at about 36 games per week they have to play.

MLB teams, meanwhile, are just starting a regular season during which they typically will play 6 games per week. 90 games per week. It'd be hard to find a locale with the number of MLB quality fields required to make that feasible. And you're only doing this to satisfy local broadcast contracts, which you can't really do if teams are starting games at unknown times (a possibility due to the varying length of times baseball games will take).
