I browsed /biz/ during the COVID crash but I've never been able to sort out all the infighting between "Linkies", crypto speculators, etc. But really I just don't have cash flow to play around with that kind of stuff yet
Linkies are certainly hostile to new peeps since it's gaining momentum in price which is attracting newcomers. Previously, people have been buying up under a dollar when the "news" amounted to what breadcrumbs and connections the community could dig up. By that, I mean having to trust unverified leakers' information, and researching every person's twitter and linkedin account to see who is following who to make connections of what companies are in contact with other companies under NDA. So there's a lot of pride to be had to getting in early and being right about the project as opposed to now where there is confirmation after confirmation after more confirmation that Chainlink is going to be massive. I mean, within the last 30 days, we have had China announcing their smart cities will be using Chainlink as their oracle and launched 135 nodes (why the price pretty much doubled I believe), Deutsche Telekom's subsidiary T-Systems being a node operator and selling their telecom data in the network, and now Korea's biggest banks are going to use Chainlink to offer price feed data.

But I always recommend people get in on crypto even with $20. We're at the beginning of the 4th industrial revolution, more accurately here, the smart contract revolution. This is like getting into the internet revolution in the 90's. You want to have your foot in the door. In fact, Coinbase has free crypto challenges where you just need to answer questions after watching videos on whatever crypto they're showcasing. Watch the videos, answer the questions, boom, you have $30 to trade into Link and you'll make a pretty penny into the next year. No money spent.

I've used it for literature discussions but haven't gone in a solid year because it devolved into Jew-bashing and porn. It was top tier entertainment before it got run with the politics drifters but I've never considered it for anything instructive.
That's one thing I've just accepted, they hate everyone. It drives me nuts to see how much they rail blacks, especially the "BBC" memes, and they're always attacking Indians. But the information is valuable for me to put up my nose and look away. Dumpster dive bro!
