Reddit is not a good place for discussions, the upvote mechanics incentivizes people to agree and follow the crowd to avoid being censored by downvotes. Even worse, said basket weaving site HATES reddit and so they spread misinformation on there. In fact, one of the main projects I follow, Chainlink, was actively fudded (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) where they actively downvoted any positive discussions and spread misinformation. So yes, go on the basketweaving site. Learn how to navigate the site and follow the discussion and you'll learn immensely. I've used it for literature discussions but haven't gone in a solid year because it devolved into Jew-bashing and porn.
