You may not be able to take a sledgehammer to them like in one of the above posts, but you can whack them over the head as "punishment" or leave them chained in the front yard with little room to move around, and there's not much anyone can do other than call the county and hope they'll give them some kind of citation Even when you do engage in wanton abusive behavior, it's not always a felony or carrying jail time ...
