Cost of living SKYROCKETS every time min wage goes up. It's insane. It's worse now then before min wage was raised in many places by 50% or so.

IF you raise wages, raise them across the board.

The issue here is that wages have raised across the board to a degree (much more for the wealthier side of the spectrum), but the minimum wage stays at one rate until laws pass to raise it. And even after the increases, adjusted for inflation, the minimum wage is still significantly lower than was it was in the 1960s:
