However, Trump didn't clarify within the statement made during its initial time. It was a conversation about Covid, which Trump still goes back and forth on in regards to whether or not it's happening, such as pushing a conspiracy theory about it being an elaborate scheme (that many people worldwide are in on rather than actually dead) to hurt Trump's re-election campaign, and I can see some of his defenders continue to say Trump was talking about something other than the main topic at hand (again, without adding any clarifying words). This Fox news story ran a couple days before the news conference.
