apparently the Replacements were very influential on pop punk

The Replacements are one of the greatest punk (and rock period) bands of all time
they may have stopped being a hardcore band fairly early on, but certainly don't see as like pop punk bands

screw punk and pop punk it's all about the best genre post-punk

heavily agree

Joy Divison, Wire, The Fall, Husker Du, gang of four, talking heads, mission of burma, public image ltd, this heat, killing joke, bahaus, magazine,

plenty of others

and some others have some kind of association with the genre as well

XTC and Swans which are my first and 2nd favorite bands of all time

And the Cure which is like idk top 20 or so

ok now i'm listening to the Fall for the first time in ages, what a great fucking band

especially This Nation's saving grace and Hex Enduction era
