I was one of them. I didn't just love meat, I lived it. My brother and I were really into BBQ. We spent hundreds of dollars on equipment and all that. Now I barely even miss it, and I only stopped eating it a half a year ago.

Yep. People in my family have even owned BBQ businesses. I still have a smoker with a few decades of family experience that saw countless dead animals thrown on it. I rarely fire it up because I just don't like the hassle of dealing with it but I occasionally load it up with vegetables.

It was definitely a transition though. The first year was full of... I don't want to say challenges because it really wasn't even an issue, but unexpected decisions, I'll say. I didn't really account for the things I would be "giving up," especially some of the traditional seasonal foods that are big in my family. Every time one came up, however, there was not much struggle or hesitation. It was easy and automatic.
