I understand they're called "yellow" sometimes, but their overall tone can be even lighter than white people's. Also, there are plenty of southerners called red necks, who quite literally have a reddish tint to their skin that makes them darker than East Asians. However, they're still considered white despite their reddish tint. Edit: Asking because Asuka is in that picture, and her skin tone is quite light.
