According to https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ the US is 11th in cases per capita and 9th in deaths per capita. The only two countries that are doing worse than the US on both counts are San Marino and Andorra, two countries that together have 0.0014% of the World's population and a single active Covid-19 case.
Because the US has done quite a lot of testing (good for 23rd in the World adjusted for population), it's likely that the undercounts in some Asian, African and South American countries are more significant than in the US. But even if the case and death numbers for each country in those continents were multiplied by five, the US would still be only doing better than some of them.
