I don't think our society has a problem recognizing the humanity of police officers. Too often, we dehumanize the people they police and reduce them entirely to hulking masses or quick movements or thugs. Meanwhile, we are demanded to view all police-citizen interactions from the officer's point of view, told to think about their fear, their need to get home safe to their family, the abuse they endure, etc. In fact, the law literally requires all of this of citizens and judges, but none of it from cops.

Cops are some of the most humanized people out there.
