Because many people on mass, hoarding and scalping face masks on an alarming rate here in the U.S. to the point that hospitals were running on no face masks for the workers and patients. They basically lied to help hospitals have more access to them, but they at least had good intentions in doing so. Can't say the same about Trump who's whole agenda lying to the US public was so that he can get reelected in November by calling the virus a Democrat hoax and fake news.Okay, but how do we know they aren't currently lying about something because they think it's in everyone's best interest. They could've laid out the situation and told people to use alternative methods (homemade masks) and gone after the scalpers hard to make examples of them.
